The Foundation of Faith

The Foundation of Faith is not what but who?

“The Foundation of Christianity is not our experience and knowledge of God. The Foundation of Christian Faith is a person, named Jesus.”

This is what we believe and this is also the foundation of our Faith. It’s not a thing or an Idea, He’s a person name Jesus. Who was more than two thousand years ago, proclaimed He is the Son of God, the savior of the lost, was crucified and brought to life by God after 3 days.

That is all that there is in our faith. What drove us to believe is because of that foundation. The very Jesus who was crucified and was raised from the dead, defeating death by His own blood and that whomsoever believes in Him shall not be perished but have everlasting life.

To know God is to look upon the life of Jesus. He certainly represented God and what God is up to us. We can’t deny what has been already told and written.  It was a thousand years ago and until know we are still touched by what he did. This Foundation changed a lot of lives, changed how people should face the world. Through this foundation we can stand firm against death and suffering because he had already overcome them and that we are also to overcome this by faith in Him.

You will not appreciate these things unless you go to God not on your terms and conditions on how you will believe Him. Christianity is not there to answer all the deepest cry of this world about pain, sickness and suffering. God has taken it to the cross and for once and for all, He proved that he loves us. The cross is the ultimate expression of God’s love and the answer to all the problem of this world. That’s why the person on that cross is the foundation of our faith in God. No other and nothing else.

The Body of Christ

-Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of it.

I Corinthians 12:27

The body of Christ is the Church. It’s not the building!

Church is the People who worship God and has relationship with Him.

People who don’t believe in the existence of God and don’t come to have fellowship with the Church; won’t feel God is existing; won’t feel God is doing something; won’t feel God is up to something in this world and in their lives, because long time ago, God  chose His people, His sons and daughters to do and complete His purposes in this world so that the world will know Him through the love that we have for each other that we have first felt when He send His Son to die for our sins.

A lot of People and some believers miss this: “Closeness to God can only be completely found when you are part of the Body of Christ, The Church” No one can survive walking in faith alone. We are all called to be part of the Church, His body.

When you know what is your part in the Body, you will certainly know your purpose and when you do what you are purposely to do, you do the will of God and before you even know it, God has already done things in your life and through you has also done things in others life then, you will feel close to God.

How does God interact with the world in the 21st century? It’s through you, it’s through us, and it’s through the body of Christ, The Church.

“Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act”

Proverbs 3:27

|

|

People come along in our life with their urgent need and the opportunity to help is certainly not on their side but to us; if we have the power to act, then why we resist overtime doing so.

|

Our availability to do good things for others and obey God is perhaps more important than our capabilities in doing them. Imagine the impact of this to all who resist the gospel if the people who talks about it won’t withhold good from those who deserve and don’t deserve it.

Pain – The Megaphone of God

As C.S. Lewis puts it this way: “God whispers in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain. It’s His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

I hesitated to believe this quotation of C.S. Lewis at first. How can a God, who claims that He loves his people, allow suffering and inexcusable pain in this world? How could it be that an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God is in silent mode whenever his people are groping for help? Where is God when it hurts? The question that always stands as a dagger in the heart of all believers, and to be honest, even me, I don’t really have enough knowledge and experience to answer back to all of these questions.  I just keep on believing to that nudge inside of me, that keep on saying. “Someday God will reveal himself and He will fix everything.

Whether you are religious or merely with no concerns at all. With certainty and no exception; everybody suffers pain in different degree.

The real problem is not why some pious, humble, believing people suffer, but why some do not?

-C.S. Lewis

Something is wrong! No matter how we rationalize everything in favor of our God. The question about pain and suffering has never been resolved because it tackles another subject of argument, whether God really exists or not?

For those who believe, no explanation is necessary, for those who do not, none will suffice.

-Joseph Dunninger Mentalist

In which by this reason; I got a little insight of what Lewis is really trying to say, when he said that pain, is the megaphone of God.

In my Christian journey, there’s always a part of me that tells me to let go of everything that I believe, but there’s that big hope that when the right time comes, when God breaks his silence and reveal his self.  The God whom at first promised, that he will restore everything to its perfect and original state; In that day, until that day; that all the questions about pain and suffering will be sealed off; and the question: Where is God when it hurts? Will never be heard again; I will keep on believing that God will do what he promised yesterday.

Discontented of what you have? Still wanting to have more? Yet when you have them you don’t have that pretty much contentment? Life is unfair, truly! Some people, who are having much, are not giving importance to it. Some people, who want to have at least, cannot be provided. Have contentment! You are so blessed because you have read this that means you know computers; you know how to use them. You are probably well educated and sure literate. Even by just thanking you parents for providing your needs or someone who helped you a lot. Be thankful because you have studied and be thankful if you already have a job because for sure you don’t want to be in a place on this earth where there is no word considered as “Economy” that results to job. Most of all thank Him, who is invisible and unseen yet He revealed Himself to those who seek Him wholeheartedly. Lastly, don’t ask me why there are oppressed and really poor people in this world. Ask your self why there are able people who could help them our but they didn’t.

God is just watching. He is just watching our steps but the final word is his. Both those who suffered hard and those who dwelt affluently will be judged and that judgement matters eternally better than the temporary suffering and wealth that anyone inherits today.

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.
